My husband and I adopted Elsa, a 3-4 y/o Great Pyrenees, in August 2018 from a local shelter outside of Chicago. She was brought up from a high kill shelter in KY, underweight and heartworm positive. She is now a healthy, happy and voluptuous 130 pounds of floofer love!

Friendly and fun
The Charmant HotelThe Charmant is the most dog friendly hotel we've ever stayed in. From the moment we pulled up to this historic gem we could tell we were in for a wonderful stay. Elsa, our 136 pound Great Pyrenees, was welcomed with open arms and lots of pets. The beautiful boutique room has a dog bed and bowls ready for her arrival. Elsa enjoyed the walks in the park across the street, along the river and around historic downtown. In the evenings Elsa held court in the lounge while we enjoyed delicious gourmet nibbles and wine. We will definitely be back!
Very pup friendly!
Tru by Hilton StoughtonThe staff loves dogs and welcomed our 136 pound Great Pyrenees with open arms, literally! Comfortable, but small rooms with laminate flooring which is great for cleaning up after a messy drinker (the dog, not owner). The property has grassy areas to walk with poop bags and supplies available. I thought they had a pet fee, but we weren't charged which was a nice surprise! Great location convenient to town and hiking at Lake Kegonsa State Park. We'll definitely stay again!
