Freezing and dirty

I arrived just before 8 in the evening. The receptionist showed me the room on the ground floor entering onto the drive. So already not great when exiting with the dogs as you cannot see people coming around the corner. Then I had to go back to ask how to lock the door. I then realized it is freezing no heating and no hot water. Given the sulky receptionist, I just let it be. I then found a way to switch on the heating for the room. Not for the water. A real shame as I have often stayed here in the past on the way to or back from the south of France. The dogs spilt some water. I dried it up with the bathroom towel. Completely black! Why should I pay extra for cleaning when it was not clean to start with? Plus no provision of water bowls for the dogs in the room, no blankets etc.
