Angler's Paradise
Summary:
Angler's Paradise is a fisherman's dream house and a great getaway for anyone looking for a beach retreat. Little Gasparilla Island is a bridge-less barrier island off Florida's West Coast. Access is by private boat or water taxi only, which means our beaches are uncrowded, our fishing is great, our island is unspoiled and your vacation can be exactly what you want it to be.
The Space:
Angler's Paradise is cozy and rustic with all the charms of an old Florida beach cottage. Enjoy an updated kitchen, new TV, and excellent views of the bay.
This home close to the beach and is literally just a few steps to the dock so you can be on the water (or fish off the dock) with a minimum of effort.
This two bedroom one bath home is cozy and rustic with all the charms of an old Florida beach boasts all the comforts of home with an updated kitchen, new TV and excellent views of the bay.
It has an open-air outdoor shower on the spacious and sunny back porch, with a large outdoor dining area, chaise lounge and gas grill. This porch is a perfect spot to enjoy the sun during the winter months when it might be a bit chilly elsewhere on the island! The house is shaded by tropical mango trees and is directly across the "path" from the island library which offers a large selection of paperbacks, magazines and VHS movies available for all island residents and guests on the honor system.
The master bedroom offers a king-size bed and the second bedroom has a double bed. There is a spacious utility room with a full-size washer and dryer on the main floor. Downstairs there is a relaxing hammock if you feel like a nap in the shade!
Just a few steps down Duval St. you will come to Little Gasparilla's beautiful beach, where shells and shark's teeth await you and the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico will beckon you. You can rent a kayak or stand up paddle board and have it delivered right to your dock.

Getting Around:
The island is only accessible via water taxi or personal boat. A complimentary dock slip is included in your rental. The water taxi will drop you off at the dock and our island concierge can meet you with a golf cart to assist with transporting your luggage and groceries to the home. The water taxi runs by appointment only and it is $15 per person (each way) during regular daytime hours.
Other Things to Note:
HOLIDAY RATES: Please note that all there will be holiday rates applied to quotes for Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.
Leave your car and your cares at the marina because Little Gasparilla is accessible only by water taxi! That means our beaches are uncrowded and tourists and traffic are just a mainland memory. If you are looking for a quiet tropical island to relax and unplug, Little Gasparilla is your dream vacation spot. Our "nightlife" consists of giant sea turtles laying their eggs -- our only bar is the sand bar where you can find sand dollars and shells!
PLEASE NOTE: We do require that two members of each group must be over 25 years of age. We apologize, but we can NOT rent to college groups as a courtesy to the homeowners and our island neighbors. Guests will be evicted if found not to meet age requirements upon check in. Additionally, we can not exceed capacity in island homes due to the fragile septic systems.
Interaction with Guests:
We have a home on the island, and another home on the mainland 10 minutes away. We value your privacy so we will not bother you or be intrusive, but we can get to the home quickly if you have issues. Our housekeeper lives on the island 10 minutes away and we have a local handyman that we can send out if there are maintenance issues. Please note, however, that the handyman is subject to the same problems getting to the island that you were. If something breaks after 4 PM chances are almost 100% that it will not be repaired until the following day. This is a remote barrier island and our mantra is "go with the flow".
